WTAPS and New Balance unveil their third sneaker collaboration: a refined interpretation of the 990v6 in elegant shades of grey and white. The partnership’s earlier creations surprised the sneaker community, and this new model continues the ethos of understated design.
The WTAPS 990v6 appears deceptively in-line, seamlessly blending various hues of grey through its suede, nubuck, and mesh upper. A subtle distinction arises with the “USA” graphic on the lateral side, accompanied by minimal WTAPS branding, replacing the US flag on the heel and gracing the insoles. The ensemble is perfected with tonal NB tongue branding and a tri-color ENCAP midsole featuring FuelCell cushioning technology.
Notably, WTAPS becomes the second collaborator to reimagine the 990v6, following Action Bronson’s “Baklava” and “Lapis Lazuli” editions. The global release date for the WTAPS x New Balance 990v6 collaboration is yet to be announced. In Japan, it’s set to launch on Friday, August 25, with a price of ¥44,000 JPY (approximately $301 USD).
